One of the simplest quote that I really love is this sentence by Mark Manson. We spend eternity dreaming about what would be just the perfect thing, what we want our lives to be, how the place we are in can be so much better. Unknowingly this brings in a tone of dissatisfaction and unhappiness. Wanting a positive experience is equivalent to feeling that we're having a negative experience.
On the contrary, we spend so much time trying to move on from a bad experience. Trying to tell ourselves "everyone faces this" Or "I should not be feeling this bad". This thought is supported by those around us who may call our reactions over reactions or may not even acknowledge our feelings. When someone (including your self) acknowledges these feelings, it becomes seen, you feel heard, and because of that reassured. It becomes a positive experience.
